About

With over 10 years experience as a professional dog trainer, Haylie Gernert-Dott is passionate about canine behavior. From her early days of working with her Wheaten Terrier to her more current interests in dog sports, Haylie has always been interested in how to cultivate the best life for the dogs around her. Haylie is certified by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT) and is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer- Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA).

An alumna of the University of Vermont, Haylie has used her degree in animal science and canine behavior to help people understand that the key to good dog training is relationship building. Haylie has extensive experience working with dogs from varying different backgrounds, including at the Berkshire Humane Society where she acted as the Canine Behavior Specialist and lead trainer of the Family Dog School. She currently serves as the Berkshire Humane Society’s Canine Behavior Consultant.

A strong believer in simple and easy-to-understand dog training, Haylie aims to equip all of her board and train clients with the tools they need to be successful. Her goal is to teach each owner how to best communicate with their individual dog.

Haylie now lives in Adams MA with her partner Luke, his Labrador Beya, her 2 Border Collies Bash and Swift, and her Belgian Malinois Squirrel. When she isn’t training dogs Haylie enjoys trail running with her dogs all over the Berkshires. With her own dogs, Haylie trains and competes in agility, mondioring, nose work, and search & rescue.
